X-Transport integrates Enterprise Management systems of various customer sites for Comparex Africa Print E-mail

One of the major challenges facing Comparex Africa (one of South Africa's major outsourcing companies) has been integration of the various EM systems from their various customers (around 20,000 managed objects at various customers scattered across Asia, the United States, Europe and Africa) into one holistic view. X-Transport from Project X Technologies was chosen to integrate their Unicenter architecture.

Having acquired the responsibility of Enterprise Management for each of their customer sites, they did not want to lose the investment their customers had already made in various other solutions. They therefore needed a mechanism that could transport the required messages (critical, warning, etc as defined by the customer) from the distributed sites to a central Command Center in a form familiar to their core staff. Project X Technologies' "X-Transport" helped them achieve that goal. It allows the central core technicians to remotely manage various sites, offering 24-hour management facilities in a standard set of technologies. X-Transport also allows them to integrate other management products into Unicenter TNG, including some existing Unicenter TNG customers' applications to backwardly integrate. Issues around duplicate IP addresses have been resolved using the X-Transport Management layer.

One of Comparex's customers had special requirements for non-standard port management of a network device (which was not discovered by Unicenter TNG). Project X Technologies developed a customized policy to facilitate this management. This proved to be so successful that it was rolled out to all existing customers to extend their Network Management Capabilities.

In order to automatically log calls from management systems to their Service desk (Remedy), Project X Technologies developed a call logging system. This system includes a correlation engine to deal with duplicate calls.

With the help of Project X Technologies' onsite experts constantly imparting their skills and knowledge, Comparex are now in a position to produce product Champions in their Command center in order to provide excellent service to their customers.

With an easily integrated standard methodology, Comparex are able to roll out their Enterprise Management solution to new customers quickly and efficiently, thus providing a cost-effective reliable solution to their customers.
